Learning to write instructions.

I found this activity easy because I knew all the ingredients already from making the drink and seeing the ingredients with my own eyes. I am proud of how I typed out my work. My next steps with instructions is to make my work more fancy.

Learning to work out fractions of a set.

I found this activity easy because I already know that two quarters is basically the same as saying half of 28 is. My next step with finding fractions of sets is working out problems with three quarters.

Learning to use correct punctuation.

Learning to draw a giraffe and blend using pastels.

I enjoyed using the paperclips in between my giraffes mane to make sure I didn't paint over the black lines. I am proud of how I used the pastels to shade the neck of my giraffe.

Learning to write a adjective poem

I have been learning to use adjectives to add detail and expression to my writing. I found this activity easy because I thought of everything before I wrote it in my head. I enjoyed writing my poem because there is lots of adjectives you can think of and include in your writing. My next step with using adjectives is to use the thesaurus and dictionary to find better words.

LI: I am learning to use the rounding and compensating strategy.

Learning to retell a story.

WALT: retell a story.

This is about the story 'The Lonely Tiger' by Tatiana Sharpe. I tried to retell the story using Puppet Pals. My characters are the troll, myself, my dojo minion, Harold, and Kahlan's bag. My favourite part was setting up the people and taking photos and putting different bodies onto the photos. I am proud of how similar my retell was to the story. My next step with retelling is to use character traits to make it more like the story.

Using different language features.

I use different language features in my writing so people go wow and want to read my story. For my story about my lava lamp. I used onomatopoeia to make my story more interesting.
I thought it was hard because it was hard to remember what I did
my next step is to make it more interesting.

Learning to use a interesting hook.

Learning about character traits.

We have been learning about character traits. This is my poster of the crocodile from 'the crocodile in the library' by Margaret Mahy.

I found this activity easy because I had all of these ideas already. It was fun being able to make a poster. I am proud of the different fonts that I used. My next step with character traits is to add a little bit more detail to the way I describe characters.

My Portrait

I like that I have lots of detail in my self portrait. I am proud of my portrait because it has the same features as I have.

Learning to skim and scan to summarise.

I found this activity a little bit easy. It was easy because there were lots of questions that I could put in the worksheet. My next step will be to get more books for homework.

My writing response using a story starter

I thought this was hard to draw because it's hard to draw on computer
It was easy to ask questions to the king who was looking for a unicorn horn who had white hair.
